PROJECT SCOPE: Dalby Bio Refinery Tanks
This project comprised the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operation of Queensland’s first grain-to-ethanol production facility at Dalby, in the ‘grain belt’ of the Darling Downs region.
The facility was constructed on a Greenfields site and produces in excess of 76ml of ethanol per annum. The feedstock for the plant is sorghum which is widely grown in the area as a source of livestock feed.
Dalby Bio Refinery Tanks scope of works included:
- Supply and installation of four pressurized ethanol reaction vertical column tanks: diameter 16m x 25m high stainless steel grade 304 and associated pipework. Built to American Standards API 650.
- Supply, install and paint four bulk fuel and product tanks complete with floating roves: diameter 26m x 12m high mild steel built to American Standards API 650.
