CASA was engaged to supply and install platform structures as part of the Rocklea station refurbishment. The structures included a 40-metre footbridge, bridge support columns, canopies and stair towers.
The footbridge required off-site preassembly of the structure and partial fitout to reduce the disruption to rail services.
Rocklea Rail Station key milestones:
- Works completed in suburban Brisbane
- Works fabricated to MRTS78 specification
- Installation occurred during the weekend closure of rail and local roads
- The footbridge was made up of three sections which were fitted out before lifting into position
- Footbridge installed without the need for temporary works, therefore reducing the rail closure time
