CASA were engaged to supply and install new platform structures as part of the Banyo Rail Station refurbishment. Structures included a 25-metre footbridge, canopies and stair towers. The footbridge required significant coordination with other trades including concrete supports and fitout to reduce the disruption to rail services.
Banyo Rail Station key points:
- Works fabricated to MRTS78 specifications
- Installation occurred during the weekend closure of rail and local roads
- The footbridge is made up of one section which was fitted out prior to lifting into position
- Oversize transport requiring out-of-hours work to minimize disruption to the local community.
- Footbridge installed without the need for temporary works, therefore reducing the rail closure time
