CASA was engaged to supply and install platform structures as part of the Lindum rail station refurbishment. The structures included a 40-metre footbridge, canopies and stair towers.
The footbridge required significant coordination with other trades for the off-site fit-out to reduce the disruption to rail services.
Lindum Rail Station key points:
- Works fabricated to MRTS78 specifications
- Installation occurred during the weekend closure of rail and local roads
- Off-site preassembly and modulisation was used to reduce installation time on-site
- Oversize transport requiring out-of-hours work to minimize disruption to the local community
- Footbridge, stairs and columns were installed without the need for temporary works, therefore reducing the rail closure time
