PROJECT SCOPE: ARARAT TWIN BRIDGES

CASA was awarded the contract for the Design & Construction of two bridges on the Landsborough-Elmhurst Road over the Wimmera River in Glenlofty Victoria.

CASA’s scope included the demolition of the existing concrete structures and the construction of the replacement structures compliant with AS5100.

The bridges were designed and constructed of Integral Structural form offering jointless bridges with no bearings. A major benefit to the Shires by minimising ‘Whole of Life’ maintenance normally associated with failure of bearings over time.

The bridges consisted of steel-driven Circular Hollow section piles, integral abutments and pier with Prestressed Concrete T-beams cast monolithic with reinforced concrete overlay slab.

The project was completed in seven weeks.
