Temporary strengthening work was required to an existing culvert on the Barkly Highway to maintain its structural integrity. RoadTek required a contractor who could support a prompt mobilization and complete the work prior to the pending wet season and annual leave period.
CASA was established on-site within 7 days of receipt of the project documentation and completed the work ahead of the approved program.
Mt Isa Culvert scope included;
- Removing existing bitumen and excavating to required level,
- Installing levelling pads and placing concrete precast panels
- Supplying and placing high-flow-high strength concrete
- Assisting RoadTek with the placement and relocation of steel traffic barricades.
To maintain traffic flow work was carried out in two stages (one lane at a time).
