PROJECT SCOPE: Williams River Bridge ExpansionFixed Joint Rectification & Head Stock Strengthening

Detrition of the expansion / fixed joints and structural integrity of head stock required extensive works to be undertaken on this bridge.

The scope of works included fabrication of strengthening bars and installation. Expansion and fixed joints were also required to be refurbished.

Due to the location and nature of the works required, CASA Engineering proposed alternative work methods to help gain access to the river bed and also reduce costs to Roadtek by introducing work mats to mobilise around the sandy river bed. This negated the need to truck/fill/road base in to give a competent work platform for accesses equipment and reduced environmental impact on the river bed.

Work was completed on the 23rd of December before the wet season.
